Keyword research is the process of finding and validating the exact words and phrases your ideal customers type into Google (and other search platforms) when they’re ready to buy, compare, or solve a problem.
Why is keyword research crucial for your business?
Keyword research is crucial for your business because it tells you what to optimise your website for before you touch a single page—so you’re not guessing, targeting the wrong terms, or wasting months building content that nobody searches for. Good keyword research reveals search intent (what the user actually wants), the language real customers use, and which keywords are realistically achievable based on competition. It also helps you map the right keywords to the right pages (service pages, location pages, blogs, FAQs), avoid keyword cannibalisation, and build an SEO plan that drives qualified leads instead of just traffic.
